Jennifer studied at the Royal Northern College of Music where she studied with Richard Davis (Principle flute, BBC Philharmonic) and Joanne Boddington (Hallé), where she received awards such as the Pat Barney Flute Prize, Trevor Wye Prize for Chamber Music, the June Emerson Wind Music Launchpad Prize and finalist in the Cross-School Chamber Prize.  She was also a finalist in the prestigious RNCM Gold Medal Soloist Competition in 2013, selected externally by the chairman of EMI records.  Prior to her studies at the Royal Northern College of Music, Jennifer studied music at the University of Manchester graduating in the 2011 where she majored in Performance, Composition and Shostakovich studies.


As a soloist, Jennifer has given recitals across the UK to great critical acclaim. She has performed various concertos with symphony, chamber and wind orchestra in the UK and abroad, including Malcolm Arnold’s 2nd flute concerto in the Malcolm Arnold Festival 2013 and and returns regularly to perform his chamber works (2015 and 2016).  Other concerti performed include Mozart’s Flute and Harp Concerto with the All Saints Chamber Orchestra, Charles Griffes' Poem for flute and string orchestra and Ibert's Flute Concerto with the Northampton Symphony Orchestra.  She has performed in festivals such as the Lake District Summer Music Festival, the Endellion Easter and Summer Music Festivals and at venues including Kings Place and St. Martin-in-the-Fields.

Jennifer is making a name for herself in the contemporary music circuits, playing regularly with a number of new music series and ensembles in festivals such as the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, the North West Music Festival and recently performed on BBC Radio 3's Exposure series.  She is the flautist in the experimental music group Almost Credible Music (ACM) Ensemble. Jennifer is passionate about working alongside composers, commissioning works and taking an active role in the process.  In April 2015, she gave the world premiere of Aaron Parker’s work Now. No More.  as part of the ddmmyy music series.  


As an orchestral player, Jennifer has performed and been invited to play the BBC Proms with the BBC Philharmonic, has also performed with the Royal Northern Sinfonia, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Manchester Camerata, Northern Chamber Orchestra, Birmingham Opera Company and regularly performs with the St. Endellion Festival Orchestras.  She is also on the extra lists for the Halle Orchestra, Welsh National Opera as well as reaching the final audition round for the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra principal piccolo auditions. She has played principal flute with established orchestras such as NEW Sinfonia, the Brayfield Orchestra and  Liverpool Mozart Orchestra.  As principal flute of the Kaleidoscope Orchestra, Jennifer has recorded albums for artists such as Flux Pavillion, performed for Gatecrasher Classical and Cream Classics Ibiza.  Jennifer has also collaborated with artist Honey Harper, performing at The Lexington and The Waiting Room, London.


With her chmaber ensembles, Jennifer works regularly with outreach projects and has been on the Live Music Now schemes as well as working for the chairty Music in Hospitals and Care, Jennifer has a residency at Sheffield's Northern General Hospital and Manchester Royal Infirmary in the ICU and HDU wards, playing to patients.
